RESEARCH

My research focuses on the evolution of animal behavior. I study the selective pressures that give rise to different patterns of mating, life history, and behaviors such as parental care. In my lab, we use a combination of field and lab observations, manipulative experiments, and mathematical modeling to advance and test theory. Students are involved in all aspects of my research, and I place a high priority on mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
